Red flag: “Yes, the admin can fix mistakes directly.”
eSACCO: No. Every posting is a balanced journal entry that nobody on your staff can edit or delete. Write-offs and reschedules post new entries, so history is never rewritten.
Red flag: “We have an income and expenses report.”
eSACCO: Yes. Chart of accounts, trial balance, balance sheet and income statement, all built from the one ledger every transaction posts to.
Red flag: “Only if you set the permissions carefully.”
eSACCO: No. The server refuses it, whatever the permissions say, and every step from application to disbursement is in the audit log.
Red flag: “That never happens.”
eSACCO: It posts once. Every money write carries a unique key, so a retried confirmation or a double-tapped button cannot post the same shilling twice.
Red flag: “It is only a small amount per member.”
eSACCO: No. One flat monthly fee for your size band (up to 100, up to 500, unlimited members), never a charge per member.
Red flag: “They can download our app.”
eSACCO: Yes. Every deposit, repayment and withdrawal sends an SMS with the old and new balance, on any phone. USSD balance checks are next on our roadmap.

Recruit 100 more members and per-member pricing adds UGX 80,000 a month. eSACCO adds nothing.
Per-member figures default to UGX 800 per active member a month and UGX 3,000,000 setup, a rate published by a Ugandan SACCO software vendor in October 2026. eSACCO figures are our list prices paid monthly; paying yearly costs less. SMS credit is extra.
